The International Monetary Fund, or IMF, is an organization of 188 signatory countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, maintain and oversee exchange rates, inspect several forms of monetary policy, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.
